Mento Corp. is a full service landscape, hardscape and construction company based in Braintree, Massachusetts, with roots dating back to 1973. For decades, Mento has been providing superior landscape and construction services to customers on the South Shore and beyond.
What We Do
The Beginning (1973)
Mento Landscape and Paving, Inc., was started in 1973 by John L. Mento. Originally, the company began as a landscape and garden center, and over the years, expanded into a full service landscape, hardscape, and paving supercenter, evolving to specialize in paver patios, outdoor living design and construction, full-scale planting services, driveway paving, and retaining wall design and construction.
The Creation of Mento Homes (2012)
In 2012, Mento Homes was created by John J. Mento and Dan Mento as a sister company to Mento Landscape and Paving, Inc., focusing on home construction, site development, and large-scale excavation projects.
The Consolidation (2020)
In 2020, Mento Landscape and Paving, Inc. consolidated with Mento Homes to form Mento Corp. in order to provide customers with exceptional services for every part of your new or existing home. In addition to full home construction, Mento Corp. specializes in outdoor living design and construction, with a focus on patios, walkways, and retaining and decorative walls.
In addition to the suite of services offered to customers with new and existing homes, Mento Corp. is also a licensed Massachusetts real estate brokerage, proudly representing both buyers and sellers.
Meet Our Team
John J. Mento (Owner) – John oversees both the new home construction and site development aspects of the company.
Dan Mento (Owner) – In 2000, Dan began his career at Mento, working in the Garden Center. Dan is a graduate of Archbishop Williams High School (’04), and took over the responsibilities for accounts payable and receivables in 2010. Today, Dan oversees all business aspects of the company.
Jason Smith (Lead Sales and Project Manager) – Jason began working at Mento in 2001 as part of the install crews and office staff. A graduate of Archbishop Williams High School (’04) and Roger Williams University (’08), Jason began his career in sales and estimates in 2008 and has a true passion for all aspects of landscape construction, including meeting new people each day for consultation appointments and overseeing a project from start to finish. Today, Jason manages all day-to-day operations as the company’s lead sales and project manager.
John L. Mento (Sales and Project Manager) – A graduate of UMass (’71) with a degree in Landscape Operations, John incorporated Mento Landscape and Paving, Inc. in 1973. In 2020, John stepped down as Owner, but remains actively involved with the company to this day.
Patrick Burke (Licensed Real Estate Agent) – Patrick specializes in representing buyers and sellers for Mento Corp.’s real estate team. As a lifelong resident of Holbrook, MA, Patrick has deep knowledge of the South Shore real estate market. In addition to his role in the real estate division, Patrick assists both the landscape and home construction teams. MA License #9571355
Mary Theresa O’Connor (Administrative Support) – Mary Theresa thrives in a busy office setting, working part-time in the Mento office for several seasons before transitioning to full-time in 2011.
